Be vigilant!

There are a lot of methods, allowing malefactors to direct you at the incorrect Internet address in order to make an effort to get access to your account.
At first check up whether you are on the website of the system e-LS. The address of our website is www.e-ls.lv
".lv" – (dot LV) means the Latvian root domain level. Please make sure that the domain name ends with two letters: "L" and "V", but not ".com", ".net", ".tv", ".iv", ".lu" or any other combination.
Also make sure, that the page following our domain name goes after the character "/", this address can be as follows for example: http://www.e-ls.lv/?page=index, but remember that the page on our website cannot be as follows: http://www.e-ls.lv_about.htm.some_domain.abc/take_your_password.htm. The Internet address indicated in the example will direct you to the web page of the domain: some_domain.abc but not to www.e-ls.lv

Protection of Your Account

In order to ensure protection of your electronic account, your password must be unique and must not be used on other Internet sites or somewhere else. Also it should be remembered that you must not tell anybody your password or use other persons' passwords. Each person who gets access to the account using your password will be recognised by the system as a user with your data.
The best ways is to try to memorise the password. If you still need to write it down, keep this record in a safe place (for example, in a safe). Dot not write down the password on a sheet of paper and do not leave it next to your computer.
A code card is one more key to your computer. Ensure its safety. The code card, login to the system and password must not be stored together, because, if a malefactor has a code card, login to the system and password, he has full access to your account.
Take into account that you bear full responsibility for protection of the security elements of your account (code card, login to the system and password).
In case of loss of the code card or if you discover that the written down password has been lost, you must immediately enter the system and change the code card and password.

Safe Visiting of Websites

When you visit websites for payment for goods or services, do not indicate your password in no case, even if you are inquired.
There are websites, on which you can be demanded to supply this information, but their only intention is to get information about your account for getting access to your account and attempt of theft.
Find out information about a seller (name, actual address, e-mail, telephone number) and check up this information. Do not co-operate with those who refuses to provide contact information.
There is a great number of swindlers in the Internet who allegedly sell very attractive goods at attractive prices, however, after receipt of payments they do not respond to your requests to deliver goods or return money. It is quite difficult or even impossible to find them in the cyberspace.
Prior to entering the data of your account, please make sure that you are on the website of the system e-LS (www.e-ls.lv). There can be false e-LS websites trying to obtain information necessary for access to your account.
In order to be completely sure that you are on the correct website, please check up information in the SSL certificate, which our website sends to your browser.
There must be written that this certificate in force and written in the name of the website www.e-ls.lv.
If in any case, if you suspect that your password was compromised, try to change it as fast as possible.
To ensure better protection of your account from false websites our company has developed a special code card. There are codes and their numbers on the card. If a website, allegedly e-LS, inquires a code with a number, which is not included your operating code card, it is the first sign that the website is false. In this case immediately inform us so that we take necessary measures to terminate fraudulent activity.

False Electronic Messages

False electronic messages can look like messages from e-LS. "There was a problem with your account. Please, click here, then enter your username, password and a code from a code card". However, it can be an attempt of fraud. e-LS never sends messages, which request to enter information necessary for access to your account.

Do not click on hypertext links in electronic HTML messages for access to your account or confirmation of the executed payment, it can bring you to false websites. Instead, enter the address of the system WWW.E-LS.LV in your browser or use electronic bookmarks made by you before. Such messages may contain warnings where the company warns customers of problems with their accounts. These messages contain hyperlinks, which look believable, but they are in fact false websites, where you can be required to provide a password or other personal information. For example, a hypertext link in an electronic message looks like a link to the e-LS website, however, if you point a cursor on this link, an incorrect address will appear in the status bar (not www.e-ls.lv). Try to point a cursor to this link: http://www.els.lv!

To prevent attempts of sending false letters masking as letters of the system e-LS, we would like to inform you that original messages are sent in the plain text format and they never contain attached files. If you have received a letter, which do not comply with these terms, please do not open it and forward it for checking to the technical support service of the system e-LS to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Danger from Participation in Forums

One of the important security elements is nondisclosure of your electronic address on various forums devoted to e-LS. A malefactor, having obtained your electronic address from a forum, will understand that you are a user of this system and will send you provocative letters allegedly from e-LS with a request to confirm payment allegedly made from your account, or with a request to specify your information. It will be suggested in this letter to click on a link for entering the system and, naturally, you will be requested to enter the login, password and code for access to the system. However this link will lead you to a false website. To avoid this situation never click on links quoted in messages.
To make sure that everything is all right with your account type the address www.e-ls.lv manually or use bookmarks saved by you before.

Safe Computer

Always enter the system e-LS from a computer, of reliability of which you are sure, desirably from your own computer. Do not use computers in public places, such as internet cafes, as they can contain harmful software able to record secret information (information for access to the system) and steal money from your account.
